CHATEL Marcel

About CHATEL Marcel

I have been initially trained as a neuropsychiatrist in the seventies; since, I have had a full time function as a neurologist in the University Hospital in Nice (France). Since 10 years, I have got interested into hypnosis facing the somatic conversion disorders. I have been initially more concerned by the neuroscientific basis of the hypnotic trance than by the therapy. Then, I have followed many training courses in hypnosis; I have even attended training sessions by Jeff Zeig at the Institute Milton Erickson in Phoenix. I am now retired as a neurologist but I have maintained a part time activity as psychotherapist in the outpatient clinic of the Department of Adult Psychiatry in Pitié Salpêtrière Hospital in Paris. I take care of patients with depression, phobias, generalized anxiety and PTSD. I am very pleased to still have the opportunity to improve my knowledge in the practice of hypnosis.
