Hello from Southern California. I am Dr. Rosalind Monahan, Ph.D., LCSW and currently provide psychotherapy my own private practice.  My doctorate and my license are in clinical social work. I have been in private practice since 1989. Concurrently from 1990 to 2009 I was also a supervisor for the Department of Mental Health supervising many different programs in adult outpatient services in addition to the psychiatric emergency room, mental health treatment in the local jail, quality assurance, and contract monitoring programs. In my private practice. I specialize in working with the geriatric population and with patients with trauma histories, especially dissociative identity disorder. I completed my beginning, middle and advanced hypnosis with Michael Yapko, Ph.D. I completed my supervision in hypnosis wth Wendy Lemke, Ph.D. I will be submitting an application for certification with the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis. I provide hypnotherapy many times a week with my patients. More recently local psychiatrists are referring their clients specifically for hypnosis when the medication is not getting the results the patient desires. I am looking forward to learning from the many experts in the Festival of Voices.
